Reusable Walmart Shopping Bags

One of the most rewarding large-scale programs I worked on involved developing reusable shopping bags for Walmart. The initiative invited a couple hundred design submissions, and I was proud to have my concepts selected to move forward. The brief required a balance of bold visual appeal, brand alignment, durability, and mass production feasibility—designs that customers would be proud to carry while still meeting operational and sustainability goals.

From there, the process moved through multiple rounds of revisions across various sizes, shapes, and materials. We explored everything from gusset depth and handle construction to fabric weight and print treatments, ensuring the designs translated consistently across formats and held up in real-world use. Seeing the project evolve from initial concept to refined production-ready assets was incredibly fulfilling—especially when it received final approval from Walmart CEO, Doug McMillon. It was a strong reminder of how thoughtful design can scale, influence everyday behavior, and support a broader sustainability vision.

Fun Fact: These bags stand out. Saw one in the Macy’s Department store during the holiday season!
